The Book Of Isaiah

In the 8th century BC Isaiah the prophet foresaw the coming of the Messiah as Suffering Servant and King. Through the Holy Spirit he saw the Gospel--The Good News-- of Jesus Christ, leading to his writings being dubbed "The Fifth Gospel". The failings of the Chosen People brought on God's judgement in the form of defeat and deportation. Yet all along the way the Father is comforting and upholding them--and us--and pointing to the hope of glory of the coming restoration in the messianic age and in the world to come.
